Due to its central location on the island and proximity to the motorway (“via rapida”), LOBO DO MAR is an ideal starting point for excursions.
It is only 5 minutes by car to Vila Franca with its restaurants, supermarkets, beaches and the marina.
There you will find cafés, dive centers, a whale watching company and the shuttle boat service to the crater island of Vila Franca do Campo.
The slip road to the motorway is only 3 minutes away and in 15 minutes you are in Furnas with the famous botanical garden “Parque Terra Nostra”.
LOBO DO MAR is about 25 minutes from Ponta Delgada and the airport “João Paulo II”.
Directions (from airport)
Take the motorway (“via rapida”) heading east, signposted towards Lagoa and Vila Franca do Campo and follow it to its very end.
Continue on the old road (direction Furnas).
After 2-3 km, you will come to the sign “Ponta Garça/ Ribeira das Tainhas”. Follow this sign down the hill.
After about 900 metres you will arrive at the village street. Cross this village street, (half right).
Now you are already in our road “Outeiro Nossa Senhõra da Vida”.
Drive about 100 metres downhill with the lava stone wall on your left.
A large black iron gate on your left signed with # 42 is the entrance to our property - welcome to “Lobo do Mar”.
