What a dream!
We really felt like welcomed guests of Dagmar and Wulf .
The apartment was equipped with everything you could think of.
We felt like being home !
The guest apartment was very well maintained, super clean and above all bright and sunny. To our surprise, the fridge was filled with everything we would need for the first meals, including drinks like wine, beer, milk and fresh spring water.
The daily view of the sea was fascinating. We were even invited for dinner by the hosts - delicious!
All in all, the holiday exceeded all our expectations and we promise we will come back again.

It was so great to not have to think about anything, or figure out itineraries for special days, because you took care of all of that for us.

You brought a whole new dimension to our travels that we had never experienced before, and we will always remember.
The dinner that you created for us was unbelievably wonderful and ranks in the Top Ten meals of all times.
It was so great to see the wonderful retirement that you have created for yourselves.

Perfect, even on a rainy day
Our very friendly hosts Wulf and Dagmar have provided us for a week with a nice, very generous holiday apartment.
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, hammocks in the garden and a summer kitchen on the cliff let the connoisseur's heart beat faster.
On the huge, well landscaped subtropical garden-property of 6,000 m² you can relax wonderfully.
The service is unique:
A rental car was organized for us, we were picked up from the airport, the best tips for excursions are provided and a whale watching tour can be mediated exclusively.
We can highly recommend "Lobo do Mar" - five of five points !!!

Very nice, light-flooded apartment with a fantastic view of the Atlantic (5 out of 5 stars)
The apartment fulfils what the pictures promise: the wonderful scenic location, light-flooded with 2 balconies and a view of the small island off Vila Franca. Dagmar and Wulf are excellent hosts, they picked me up in Ponta Delgada, provided me with helpful information about the island and even took me on some trips around the island. Due to their good connections on the island they could even fulfill my special request to visit a geothermal power plant. Thank you very much!
The recommendation to rent a car is justified – anyway, I explored the island by bus which led to many more nice encounters. For travellers who are not in a rush and like meeting people this is quite an attractive alternative. Dagmar's garden is charming; she grows a variety of herbs and plants, which she also likes to offer to the guests. Delicious!
I enjoyed my stay very much and can highly recommend the holiday apartment "Lobo do Mar"

All in all, I have stayed 4 or 5 times with Dagmar and Wulf and I will gladly come back in the future.
The property is fabulous and from the summer kitchen we could already watch some whales.
The service offered by the both of them is first class.
If you want, you can become a “family member” and have dinner together with them out on the terrace…
Due to its central location, the apartment is a fantastic starting point and basecamp to explore the island.
You can get lots of tips from Wulf and Dagmar who know the island very well.
And when it comes to restaurant tips, you can trust them blindly. I will be back…

Wonderful vacation
We have already stayed four times in this idyllic place and enjoyed it each and every time. Lots of different exotic plants welcome you on the park-like property. The apartment leaves nothing to be desired and once you enjoy the glorious view of the blue ocean, the small castle and the green scenery, you know that you have chosen the right place.
The owners are always available with any kind of advice.
And this is something you should definitely profit from, because the island offers a multitude of interesting sights.
Lonely crater lakes, hot springs in which you can take a bath, areas that steam and bubble and hiking trails…
The island offers everything for the nature enthusiast.
So… highly recommended!

Holidays in Paradise
After several trips to volcanic islands like Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, I had promised myself to never go to such dreary places again.
Then I visited Sao Miguel and thought I was in paradise.
The beautiful landscape with hydrangeas, waterfalls, hot springs and magical crater lakes everywhere, the mild climate and the magnificent property with its views of the ocean – this is what the garden of Eden must have been like.
We will never forget our holiday in this paradisiacal spot and are already dreaming of coming back to LOBO DO MAR.

Pure nature
LOBO DO MAR is a spacious and friendly holiday home in the huge house of the owners. We have never seen such a well-equipped holiday home.
From the balcony one can enjoy a glorious view of the ocean, the small island and the sunset. The owners are very nice and always ready to help or give advice. The location is perfect to explore the island:
25 minutes to the capital and Ribeira Grande (with its new museum of contemporary art, “Archipelago”).
The only small disadvantage: a car is a “must”, because shops, pubs, restaurants and beaches are not within walking distance.
But renting a car is necessary on Sao Miguel anyway.
We still remember the delicious taste of the sweet tomatoes and figs from the huge, well-tended garden.

The Best Vacation Ever
My wife and I have stayed at Dagmar and Wulf’s apartment twice in the past five years. They provide an outstanding accommodation with a view of the sea and green mountain peaks. The property is a lush garden of palms, ferns and flowers overlooking the Atlantic. It’s a place not to be missed.

The Azores are a wonderful destination for travellers. I have been visiting them for more than 20 years now.
Even though Portugal has joined the European Community, the islands have kept their authenticity because they are so isolated and far away from the standard tourist trails.
At the same time you can profit from the advantages of the Azores’ accession to the EU: the well developed road network and infrastructure, well-stocked supermarkets and last but not least the Euro and cheap direct flights.
Nowhere else can you get fresher fish that, unlike in countries bordering the Mediterranean, is caught in the clean Azorean waters.
Do not drink wines made in the Azores, but the ones from the Continent; in the restaurants they cost just a little more than in the shop.
Do not only go swimming in the ocean, but also in the hot springs – where I live people would make you pay a fortune for such “wellness” luxuries.
Explore the islands. And go out in a boat, diving or watching dolphins and whales.

The apartment is perched on the steep cliffs and offers splendid views of the ocean; from east to west, as far as Vila Franca and the small islet.
It is located on the upper floor, overlooking Dagmar’s well-tended garden of the house that was built as recently as 2004.
I have been visiting since then. The German owners, who immigrated about ten years ago or so, let you have your peace and quiet, but are also available as soon as you need their advice or help.
Of course they do not need a sign saying “we speak German”.
They know the island like the back of their hand, as well as the local dive guides and whale watchers.
The holiday apartment boasts all modern comforts and is very well equipped.
It features light and spacious rooms, big French windows and access to two balconies.
It is located on the south coast, 100 m above sea level.
Distances from Lobo do Mar : to Vila Franca = 4 km, to Ponta Delgada = 28 km and to the airport = 33 km.

Great to unwind
Beautiful apartment that leaves nothing to be desired: tastefully decorated, in an excellent location, well equipped.
Great vistas from the west balcony with a view of the small island; great photo opportunities at sunset.
The owners love to show you the most spectacular sights of the island and offer help whenever necessary.
Shops within walking distance; big supermarkets in Vila Franca do Campo;
There is a lot to see, so you should stay at least two weeks.
